After an early breakfast, leave Saigon at 0700, and shuttle 35 minutes to Binh Chanh district, at the far-Western outskirts of the Metropolis. At this point, the vehicle will turn right at the intersection of Highway 50 and National Route 11, for disembarking and to start biking from here toward Go Cong, a distance of 40 km. We will bike through peaceful countryside with some rice paddies and villages along the way. There are many interesting stops waiting for us to take pictures as well as to visit some families, and to see the local people making incense for the religious, or weaving sleeping mats, and we shall have opportunities to interact with these country folk. After 25 km, we will take a rest by way of a ferryboat crossing of the Vam Co Dong River. Continue our journey until we reach Son Qui village, where we will stop again to visit a small but charming mausoleum of the grandfather-in-law of former emperor Tu Duc. Our morning bike ride will be complete on reaching the busy road again, and we shall re-board in order to shuttle from here to My Tho, where lunch is at the Mekong Rest Stop restaurant. After lunch, board our private motorized boat for a river cruise on the upper part of the Mekong River for a taste of agricultural life on the mighty Mekong River. Drive back to Saigon.
