Itinerary

Morning, meet at hotel and have a briefing & route instructions of the entire biking trip. Try out bikes before driving along the riverbank route to the Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s most preserved religious monument standing on the riverbank with its seven-storey tower. Back downtown by a local dragon boat with lunch at La Residence hotel restaurant overlooking the Perfume River. Afternoon, pedal a 15km loop to visit the Forbidden Purple City, from where the Nguyen Emperors used to reign over the country, this is the first few easy kilometers to get used to biking in Vietnam. Back via Huong Tra village to Huynh Thuc Khang street. Evening, welcome royal dinner at a Restored Royal home
Overnight in Hue (L, D)
Morning we start shuttling and biking around Hue visiting the Royal Tombs of Minh Mang, Tu Duc, and Khai Dinh. The ideal biking roads leading to the tombs take us into scenic areas of tall trees and green rice paddies with very little traffic. The scenery makes for fascinating sightseeing and provides an environment for an interesting biking. Stops at royal tombs to visit and admire the great elaborate structures built centuries ago. Lunch is at the Pilgrimage Village. Back to the hotel for relaxation. Dinner tonight is at an ancient home of a well-known historian of Hue
Overnight in Hue (B, L, D)
Breakfast is at the hotel. A new day starts with a tough but fantastic biking trip to conquer the Hai Van (Ocean Clouds) Pass, the summit of which provides a spectacular view of the central coastline. Before this, a stop at Lang Co fishing village located on a sand dune line for some beautiful photo opportunities, and then lunch at Lang Co resort. There are so many photo opportunities of this unique Pass, which has inspired many poets in the past. Continue drive to Hoi An and bike back roads along the coastline to enter the Hoi An old section. Overnight in Hoi An. (B, L, D)
Hoi An, a former international trading port during the 17-18th century, is a charming small town with an eclectic mix of Western and Eastern-influenced architecture. Morning, enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An on its narrow streets, visiting former merchants’ houses, Phuc Kien Pagoda, the 400-year old Japanese Covered Bridge, the animated market. We will learn about the well-preserved tradition, which has stayed unchanged for centuries. Lunch is at Song Hoai restaurant. Afternoon, free on your own in this boutique ancient town or take an easy ride through the countryside of Hoi An for around 10 km. Dinner at Brother Cafe restaurant
Overnight in Hoi An (B, L, D)
Bike from Hoi An to My Son, the site of the most important Cham intellectual and religious centre, dating back the late 4th century. My Son has only 20 monuments standing today and is considered the Champa counterpart to the grand cities of South-East Asia’s other Indian-influenced civilizations. Shuttle by bus and bike in the quiet sections. Picnic lunch supplied in front of My Son. Back to Hoi An for an overnight stay. Dinner is at Full Moon restaurantOvernight in Hoi An (B, L, D)
Transfer to airport for the flight to Nha Trang. Upon arrival in Nha Trang, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Lunch at a Nha Trang Seafood restaurant. Afternoon, get back to pedal-power to bike to Dong Bo for the loop around the peaceful country roads. Evening, dinner at Four Seasons restaurantOvernight in Nha Trang (B, L, D)
After buffet breakfast at the hotel, shuttle out of the town to the Old Citadel of Diem Khanh dated 18th century and start riding along the country road passing the rice paddies, rice paper-making homes. After 35 km, we stop at the church for a break and enjoy our packed lunch before continuing onto National Highway 1 to ride back to Nha Trang with a stop to visit the Cham Towers and fishing harbor. Morning shuttle from the hotel to Highway 1 towards Phan Rang and begin our challenging ride climbing the mountain passes to get into the southern highlands. The first section from our hotel is just an easy ride on flat paved roads for 60km through the fields of grapes, tobacco and cotton. After lunch at the My A restaurant, you can opt to climb the first Ngoan Muc Pass (Spectacular View Pass) or hop into the van to get to Don Duong town. After a break to for those who climb the first pass, we can do our second climb, the Don Duong Pass into Da Lat. After 25km riding along the winding road through the tea and coffee farms, we eventually reach Dalat. The final stretch of road takes us along a pine tree-lined road past old French villas and views looking down on the town. Dinner at Ngoc Hai restaurantOvernight in Dalat (B, L, D)
Ride down and up hills to visit the Lat Village where we can organize the permits with the local authority to have a talk with the locals focused on the history of the Lat people, about Dalat and the area of Lang Biang Mountain. Afternoon is free at leisure for preparation for the big following day. Lunch and dinner is at local restaurants
Overnight in Dalat (B, L, D)
Early morning we leave Da Lat on our bike back down to the coast. This is the easiest ride for all as we roll down to Don Duong via the Prenn Pass. After the first 50km, we stop at the top of the Ngoan Muc Pass to enjoy the valley of Da Nhim River far beyond. Then we go down the pass until we hit the My A restaurant for lunch. From here, we can load our bikes and take a van ride or bike on for another hour before driving to Phan Thiet and check in hotel. Dinner is at the hotel.Overnight in Phan Thiet (B, L, D)
Today we can start our day later in the day, as the ride is just 20km from the hotel to the Mui Ne sand dune. Leaving the hotel, we ride along the beach through the coconut palm trees with stops to visit the local market and the fishing village along the road. Return to the hotel for lunch and Remainder of the day is free at leisure. Dinner is at local restaurantOvernight in Phan Thiet (B, L, D)
Early morning we shuttle from our hotel out of the city, and drive for an hour to Tan Phong intersection, from where the group will bike through the rubber tree plantations. The ride is quite easy on the well-paved road. After 80km, we finish our ride in Ba Ria town. Lunch is at Thuy Duong restaurant and then shuttle back to Saigon. On arrival in Saigon, check into your hotel. Dinner is at the traditional Vietnamese Kinh Bac restaurantOvernight in Saigon (B, L, D)
Morning – drive to Vinh Long, stopping en route at a bonsai garden for a coffee break. Arrive in Vinh Long, then bike out of the town, and head on to the village of Ba Ke, where we turn into the country road and enjoy the cool air and breeze along the road. There are so many photo opportunities of the smiles of Mekong people and working farmers amidst the velvet green rice fields and fruit tree gardens, the peaceful scenery of the rivers and villages. Boxed lunch served en route. At about 3PM, we get back to the busy road and shuttle to our hotel. Dinner at hotel
Overnight in Can Tho (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we take a boat ride to visit the most interesting floating market of Cai Rang, where hundreds of boats of all sizes gather around for trading of their agricultural products. The bikes are ready and waiting at the dock opposite the market and we start biking along Vong Cung, a well-paved arced countryside road (My Khanh area) for about 30 km. The road, shaded by banana and green bamboo trees growing all the way along on both sides of the road, follows the Mekong River to the left hand side until we reach National Highway 91. From here, drive to Thot Not, where we lunch at Bang Lang restaurant. Afternoon – take a short hike of 25 minutes into the Bang Lang Stork sanctuary to watch the storks. Drive back to hotel. Dinner is at a local restaurant
Overnight in Can Tho (B, L, D)
Early morning, we shuttle to Binh Thuy and ride through the serene village and along the river until the sunrise. After breakfast, we check out and drive back to Saigon with lunch en route in My Tho. At 3PM, we arrive at the hotel and the remainder of the afternoon is free at leisure in Saigon for last minute shopping. Farewell dinner is at Buffalo Boy restaurant.
