Morning, shuttle 30 km from Hanoi to Thay pagoda dating from the 15th century with a fantastic collection of carved wooden Buddha statues. Start biking from Thay Pagoda toward Lang – Hoa Lac highway on paved road with rice fields along the way, stopping en route at the traditional So noodle making village. Bike through interesting villages and interact with local people to experience the reality of daily life deep in the Vietnamese countryside, far from the beaten path. Enjoy picnic lunch before enjoying a nice leisurely walk under cool shade of betel nut trees through Da Ngu village to Chuong conical hat making village. Shuttle back to Hanoi for late afternoon and sightseeing on Hoan Kiem Lake.
Morning, we will shuttle from hotel toward Dong Anh, a suburban district of Hanoi. Start biking through the Nam Hong flower village and then other villages, which are growing bonsai trees. The green rice fields mixed with flower and vegetable patches really make a colourful patchwork picture. Stop by Co Loa ancient citadel to see a large complex of temples and traces of earth fortifications left from 3rd century B.C. Continue riding through Thiet Ung wood carving village where the artisans have been carving wonderful arts for centuries, and whose works are now at Fine Art museum and for export. Visit the two hundred year-old house of famous artist Do Van Mui who won the national medal for his diligent creative work. Ride through the village via brick-paved road to join the main road to Dong Ky, the other wood carving village, which is famous for its carved wooden furniture. A few pleasant miles along the little river dyke will take you to Lim town. Visit the Tam Tao village temple, one of the most beautiful temples in Vietnam with its Water temple perching in the middle of water lily pond. Shuttle to Ha Giang village where we will enjoy our home hosted lunch and following is Quan Ho folk song performance by beautiful local artists in their colourful costumes of the 1930′ style. Shuttle back to Hanoi.
